Nicole Paiement conducted Ensemble Parallèle in Virgil Thomson's opera Four Saints in Three Acts, based on Gertrude Stein's original play. This special collaboration with SFMOMA was performed at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, August 19-21.

Paiement conducted the UCSC Opera Theater’s full production of Benjamin Britten’s  Albert Herring from June 2nd to 5th. With Brian Staufenbiel, Stage Director.

On February 26-27, 2011, Paiment conducted Ensemble Parallèle for the San Francisco Premiere of Philip Glass' Orphée, based on Jean Cocteau's surrealist film. Critics hailed Paiment's conducting as "a brisk, vivacious performance of the score," in a "fervant and balanced production," with "verve and sensitivity."

In November 2010, Paiement collaborated with English stage director Giles Habergal and A.C.T. on the San Francisco premiere of Tom Stoppard/André Prévin's Every Good Boy Deserves Favour  for orchestra and actors. 

Paiement conducted the world premiere of  Night Blooming for full orchestra by Noah Gideon Meites at the University of California, Santa Cruz Recital Hall. Review

This past October, Paiement and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music’s New Music Ensemble performed the San Francisco Premiere of Laura Schwendinger’s concerto for violin and orchestra entitled Chiaroscure Azzuro, with violinist Wei He, along with the world premiere of David Conte’s  Sexton Songs, with Marnie Breckenridge, soprano. Last September, Paiement conducted the world premiere recording of of Laura Schwendigner’s concerto for violin and orchestra entitled Chiaroscure Azzuro, with New York violinist Curtis Macomber.
